The Soup Effect
100% Hardcore Truth
By Chris Walker  Fitness Professional

What are you talking about Chris? What's the soup effect? You know when you make a good soup and you put all the ingredients that make it nice and tasty, maybe some chicken, celery, onion and potatoes...etc, it becomes a soup, you no longer see it as single ingredients. All you see is soup. This is the soup effect. Why am I telling you this and what's the relevance of this soup effect. Hold on, I'll explain. You probably know someone who is diabetic, I believe it's more than 60% of the population that has been diagnosed with diabetes. Now diabetics are taught to watch the foods they consume in respect to their glycemic index. The glycemic index is a system that was created to rate the foods on how quickly blood glucose levels rise when they are consumed. I say teach diabetics about the glycemic index but also teach them about the soup effect. If you can understand that your body is one big biochemical soup. When we ingest nutrients we're not to look at them as single nutrients but rather how they work together as a whole.

Afraid of Potatoes

I've spoke to so many people and honestly I wonder what they eat. When I go through their diet with them and ask what are you eating. They tell me what they don't eat. "I don't eat potatoes". "Why?" I ask. "Too much sugar", they reply. Then they ramble off a list of things they can't eat. I can't eat carrots, rice, bananas............etc. Which always leads me to the question, well, what the hell do you eat. They usually answer chicken and sometimes veggies. You don't have eat this way. You can be a diabetic and still have a life. All you have to do is apply what I call the "soup effect".

How to apply the Soup Effect

Every time you have a meal no matter what always and I mean always have a protein, a starchy carbohydrate and a fibrous carbohydrate at every meal, every 3-31/2 hours. Even if it's a potatoe, if you have it in a complete meal it's ok. Having a potatoe by it self will cause high blood sugar but having a potatoe in a complete meal doesn't have the same effect on your body. When you ingest a simple carbohydrate or a potatoe for that matter with a lean protein and a fibrous carbohydrate. The protein and the fiber slow down the release of the release of the sugar (glucose) into the blood stream. The "soup effect". You'll never get high blood sugar spikes if you eat this way. Take control of your life put some fun back into eating. Apply the soup effect today.
